Drive a Senior Northwest is a Faith in Action program, providing volunteer services to senior adults over the age of 60 to help them live independently and active in their communities as long as possible. Volunteer drivers provide transportation in their own cars to the senior's doctors appointments, grocery shopping, etc. and some volunteer are able to help with minor home repairs and friendly visits. Services are free, the need is growing rapidly in the Leander areas, and with no other means of transportation other than expensive cab services, many seniors are not able to get to their appointments or to the store without our help, so more volunteers are needed all time! Volunteers choose their rides from an easy-to-use online schedule, based on the day/time/location they are able to drive, whether it be once a month or once a week, or somewhere in between, every drive helps a senior neighbor stay in their own home longer!
